Dear Friend,
Have you ever noticed how easy it is to care for others—but how hard it can be to care for yourself?
Real, lasting health begins when you learn to love yourself well—spirit, soul, and body.
Let’s take a moment to explore what loving yourself truly means and why it’s such a vital part of your total health journey.
We can’t pour from an empty cup. When we learn to love ourselves with kindness and intention, we create the foundation for lasting health and peace.
Jesus gave us a beautiful blueprint in Matthew 22:37–39:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind... and love your neighbor as yourself.”
That last part—as yourself—reminds us, that loving others well starts with loving yourself first.
Loving yourself isn’t vanity—it’s stewardship. Taking care of yourself honors the life God has given you.
Think of it like an airplane oxygen mask: you put yours on first so you can help others breathe too. When you’re filled up, you can give from abundance instead of exhaustion.
Key Truth:
Loving yourself isn’t about being self-centered—it’s about being centered in who God says you are.
True health involves all of you:
Spirit: Connect with God through prayer, worship, and reflection.
Soul: Nurture your thoughts, emotions, and boundaries.
Body: Care for your physical health with movement, rest, and nourishment.
When one area suffers, the others follow—but when all three align, you experience peace, energy, and purpose.
Grace Yourself
Be kind when you fall short. Progress is better than perfection.
Quiet Your Inner Critic
Replace negative thoughts with truth and affirmations rooted in Scripture.
Feed Your Body with Love
Choose foods that fuel and heal, not punish or deprive.
Nurture Your Spirit
Spend time in God’s presence daily; read, pray, or sit quietly and listen.
Guard Your Heart and Mind
Protect your peace by limiting negative input and surrounding yourself with encouragement.
We love because He first loved us (1 John 4:19).
You don’t have to earn God’s love—it’s already yours. When you receive that truth, you begin to treat yourself with the same grace He gives you.
From that place of love, everything changes:
Spiritually, you draw closer to God.
Emotionally, you speak to yourself with kindness.
Physically, you honor your body as His temple.
Day 1: Read Psalm 139. Journal what it means to be “fearfully and wonderfully made.”
Day 2: Write three things you appreciate about yourself.
Day 3: Cook one nourishing meal with gratitude.
Day 4: Thank God for how He uniquely made you.
Day 5: Set one healthy boundary to protect your peace.
Day 6: Move your body with joy—walk, dance, or stretch.
Day 7: Reflect, celebrate, and thank God for your progress.
Loving yourself isn’t selfish—it’s sacred.
When you care for your body, mind, and spirit, you’re honoring the God who created you.
You are worth the time.
You are worth the effort.
And you are deeply loved.
“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” – 3 John 2
Father, thank You for loving me unconditionally.
Teach me to see myself through Your eyes—worthy of care, grace, and kindness.
Help me love myself well in spirit, soul, and body, so I can love others from overflow.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
